Honorable Withdrawal Procedures
Sometimes things don't work out! Perhaps you're thinking that working in movies and television really isn't for you. You joined the Local, paid the money, keep paying your quarterly stamps . . . but you're just not getting enough work. You want to try something else. Don't just walk away and leave us no choice but to expel you. Find out what it means to take an Honorable Withdrawal from the Local. This way, when you leave us you're in "good standing" and - if things change and you want to come back into the business someday - you can rejoin Local 477 at minimum expense. In fact, we'll welcome you back with open arms! By taking an Honorable Withdrawal, you are considered "inactive." If you decide to rejoin after two quarters, you'll be required to pay only two quarters to be reinstated. If you decide to rejoin after six quarters, you'll be required to pay only six quarters to be reinstated. You will never have to pay more than eight quarters (two years) to rejoin. It's as simple as that. You must contact Secretary-Treasurer Nancy Flesher first at sec-treas@ia477.org or 305/594-8585 extension 2 before submitting your request for an Honorable Withdrawal. Sister Flesher will answer all your questions and insure that you understand completely how the process works.
