LAWMAKERS TO HIGHLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT AFTER FIRST COMMITTEE HEARING

Tallahassee, FL – Representatives Steve Precourt, Jennifer Carroll, Kevin Ambler and Senator Mike Haridopolos will discuss the benefits of HB 697, The Entertainment Industry Economic Development Act, on Wednesday at the Capitol, Fourth Floor Rotunda, immediately following its first committee hearing.

The legislation is a top priority for the upcoming legislative session and a key component of the state’s economic diversification and recovery. Senator Haridopolos has sponsored the Senate companion version, SB 1430.  The tax credit program will stimulate job growth and generate millions in revenue at no cost to the taxpayer.  The legislation would level the playing field for Florida to compete again in the emerging economic cluster of film and digital media production.
